Ngarntipi (Spinifex Pigeon)

Learn about hoe the pigeons help create the seeds used to make damper

Synopsis:
This is the story of the sad Spinifex Pidgeon who was very lonely travelling back to her own country searching for damper seeds among the Spinifex. She travelled for several days and nights through winds, crying and singing and searching for seeds. As she sang her song, she created the Pindjirri seeds used for making damper. She was very happy, dancing and singing and gathering seeds from the Spinifex with the help of others and putting them into a pile between termite mounds on the flat earth.

Once the seeds were ready for the harvest she let the Warlpiri people know it was time to collect them and then sang her goodbye song as she happily flew home.
